Last week, Governor Mike DeWine and President Biden announced that Ohio's first Federal-State mass vaccination center will open on March 17 at Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center. The eight-week vaccination clinic, located at 2000 Prospect Avenue in downtown Cleveland, will operate seven days a week, 12 hours per day. Any Ohioan who is eligible to receive the vaccine under the Ohio Department of Health's Vaccination plan may be immunized at the clinic.
Additionally, 15 other long-term mass vaccination clinics will open throughout the state later this month. This includes a clinic at Chapel Hill Mall, located at 2000 Brittain Road in Akron, which is set to open in the coming weeks as supplies become available. This site will also be available for all eligible Ohioans to receive their vaccine.
Although the above Cleveland and Akron sites are not yet accepting appointments, there are multiple providers already offering the vaccine to eligible Ohioans throughout Cuyahoga and Summit Counties. You can find a COVID-19 vaccine provider in your area by visiting vaccine.coronavirus.ohio.gov .
Beginning this Thursday, Ohioans age 50 and up are eligible to receive the coronavirus vaccine. You can determine your eligibility and schedule an appointment using Ohio's new COVID-19 vaccination central scheduling tool at gettheshot.coronavirus.ohio.gov .
