Communicating Clearly: Keeping Focused on Your Membership Campaign Through March

We are almost halfway through the school year already! Is your website, newsletters, Twitter, FB, Instagram, etc. still coordinated with your membership committee (team)? As you start thinking about electing nominating committees in the New Year, look at your membership list for potential candidates to refer to the nominating committee. Keep encouraging your membership committee to strive for the monthly recognition awards. Remember #MembershipMatters
Continue to look for #MembershipMondayMentions tip teasers on Ohio PTA’s social media venues weekly.
Join the Ohio PTA H.U.B.

This closed group is accessible for PTA members in Ohio to share programs, ideas, and ask questions of  fellow Ohioan PTA members. We currently have over 400 members in this group! The Ohio PTA Help, Understanding, Best Practices (H.U.B) group can be accessed via the Ohio PTA FB page under the group link. Current Ohio PTA H.U.B. members are encouraged to invite their fellow PTA members to join. Group administrators will approve members (based on the response to three (3) questions and/or through invites of existing H.U.B. members) to maintain the integrity of this closed group.

Stay in touch with Ohio PTA through our many communication options.

Attention Schools & Parents Throughout Ohio
This 2018-19 school year, the Cuyahoga County Opiate Task Force in partnership with Ohio PTA, is launching an amazing opportunity for schools to improve their drug awareness and mental health education efforts for students and parents.  It's called D.E.S.C. - Drug Education School Challenge Award.  This award is aimed at helping keep our children healthy and safe by publicly recognizing schools that exemplify the most outstanding drug education prevention programs directed at students and parents. Click on the following link for the application (Under the Awards tab): Application.pdf. Applications will be due March 1st in the Ohio PTA office.
School nurses protect and promote student health - they are the school leaders who bridge healthcare and education by coordinating care for your student enabling them to be successful academically!  If your school is fortunate enough to have a school nurse, consider recognizing this person with the Ohio PTA School Nurse Award.
Click on the following application link:
Please make copies and distribute to students. Ask your principal and teachers for their involvement! There may be many different essays applauding your school nurse. Submit all forms together in one packet from your PTA/PTSA to the Ohio PTA Office by February 1, 2019. One school nurse will be selected to receive this special award.
Contact Barb Varley at with any questions.
