Health, Welfare, Safety

Attention Schools & Parents Throughout Ohio
This 2018-19 school year, the Cuyahoga County Opiate Task Force in partnership with Ohio PTA, is launching an amazing opportunity for schools to improve their drug awareness and mental health education efforts for students and parents.  It's called D.E.S.C. - Drug Education School Challenge Award.  This award is aimed at helping keep our children healthy and safe by publicly recognizing schools that exemplify the most outstanding drug education prevention programs directed at students and parents. OHIO PTA SCHOOL NURSE AWARD
School nurses protect and promote student health - they are the school leaders who bridge healthcare and education by coordinating care for your student enabling them to be successful academically!  If your school is fortunate enough to have a school nurse, consider recognizing this person with the Ohio PTA School Nurse Award.

Please make copies and distribute to students. Ask your principal and teachers for their involvement! There may be many different essays applauding your school nurse. Submit all forms together in one packet from your PTA/PTSA to the Ohio PTA Office by February 1, 2019. One school nurse will be selected to receive this special award.
