National PTA Announces Results of Annual Meeting Business   Last week was our Level Up PTA 2024 Virtual Convention, where hundreds of PTA members across the country came together to boost PTA's impact for every child.   It was a very impactful week, and we are excited to announce the following results of our National PTA elections, as well as the debate and vote on proposed resolutions, resolutions amendments, resolution to rescind, bylaws amendments and dues rate which occurred during General Meeting 2. All results will be posted to PTA.org by mid-July.   New Members Elected to NLRC The following candidates were elected as new members of the Nominating and Leadership Recruitment Committee. Dr. David Allan-Matheson, New Jersey Dianira Young, Louisiana Proposed Bylaws Amendments All proposed bylaws amendments passed, which included the following amendments. Separating Legislation and Resolutions Committees Eliminating Strategic Vision Committee as a standing committee Proposed Resolutions, Resolutions Amendments and Resolution to Rescind All proposed resolutions business passed, which included the following items. Proposed Resolution on Fentanyl Abuse and Prevention Proposed Resolution on Protecting Access to Books and Media in Schools and Libraries Proposed Amendments to the Resolution on American Academy of Pediatrics Policy Statement Children, Adolescents, and Television Proposed Amendment to the Resolution on Safe Storage of Firearms Proposed Resolutions Motion to Rescind Resolution on Blood Pressure Screening Proposed New Dues Rate Members voted to pass the motion of increasing the National PTA dues rate by $1.00, from $2.25 to $3.25, with an implementation date of July 1, 2025.
