Ohio PTA Unit and Council Officers,Welcome to our new leaders, and welcome back to those continuing. Congratulations, and thank you for serving as a PTA/PTSA Officer! Your leadership, enthusiasm, and commitment to all children are the foundation for a strong PTA. I know your investment in engaging families and focusing on all students’ academic success will bring increased value to PTA.
My
theme is “PTA DNA: Sustaining our Legacy.” Your Ohio PTA Board of Directors will work towards that theme by focusing on our legacy that started over 120 years ago!
The Summer Packet has valuable materials for your officers and is also hosted on our website at
www.ohiopta.org for all officers to access, and some of those resources are password protected.
Please reach out to your Regional Advisor for the password. Please also visit the National PTA website at
pta.org for many incredible resources for running your PTA and individual leadership development. However, your best resource is the VP of Field Services or your Region Advisor. Here is their contact information:
In 2020-21, Ohio PTA began using MemberHub, and so many of you mastered it easily! Thank you!! Please make it part of your annual officer training as we continue to utilize it for communication, membership, and fundraising.
Per Ohio PTA’s Standards of Affiliation (SOA), you need to do the following in MemberHub:
1. Report all officers (email your RA or VP of Field Service if you need admin access to do so)
2. Report all members in MemberHub
3. Pay state dues via MemberHub
4. Submit the SOA checklist by uploading it to the compliance section in Member Hub by November 30th!
MemberHub has several other great features such as givebacks, fundraising, creating your website, record keeping, hubs for communications, and a newsletter feature.
We also strongly encourage setting up your MemberHub store to sell your memberships. This saves you from manually entering officers, provides a link to share in your school newsletters and social media for people to join, and increases membership for most units.
Here are some additional MemberHub resources you may find helpful:
1. Ohio PTA MemberHub Facebook group for inspiration and sharing of resources
2. MemberHub live training (scroll to the bottom to schedule a 1-on-1 meeting)
3. How to add an officer in MemberHub
4. How to add members in MemberHub
5. How to pay state dues in MemberHub
I look forward to meeting you at local, regional, and state conferences, leadership training, and Ohio PTA Convention on April 14-16, 2023. Enjoy the rest of the summer, and have a wonderful PTA year!
